MiFiMentor

Helping people lift themselves out of poverty
- one person, business and village at a time

MiFiMentor

MiFiMentor is a global mentoring program helping Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and third-world village entrepreneurs expand their microfinanced start-ups.  The goal is to help them grow their businesses, thereby creating jobs that lift people out of poverty in a sustainable and scalable way.  It combines existing efforts in microfinance, mobile technology and emerging technologies in translation and social networking, and makes them usable in under served communities – via cell phone usage, sms portals and ongoing support from the mentor.

From a technology perspective, it solves two key issues working remotely with emerging markets: language barriers and technology access.  On an individual level, it increases personal accountability, drawing on human capital and focusing it on business leadership and real-time problem solving.
